The Synology RS3626xs is a 2U rackmount network-attached storage server with twelve drive bays, a 6-core Intel Xeon D-1726 processor and 48GB of DDR4 ECC memory. It ships fully assembled and tested with twelve 20TB Synology Enterprise drives providing 240TB of raw capacity. This platform targets businesses that need centralised file storage, virtualisation hosting, surveillance recording or multi-site collaboration in a single appliance.

Network and expansion limits

Two onboard 10GbE RJ-45 ports support link aggregation for higher throughput and failover, with Synology reporting sequential reads above 6,300 MB/s and writes above 3,700 MB/s under its test conditions. Two PCIe Gen 4 x8 slots allow the addition of compatible 10GbE, 25GbE or Fibre Channel adapters and SSD caching hardware. The system accepts twelve 3.5-inch SATA HDDs or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs and can be expanded further with supported expansion units.

Pre-deployment checks

Verify that your rack provides a 2U space measuring at least 88 mm high, 482 mm wide and 724 mm deep, and that the floor or shelf can support 14.5 kg. Confirm the site operates within 0 °C to 35 °C and 8 % to 80 % relative humidity with 100-240 VAC power available for the dual redundant supplies. Ensure your network infrastructure can terminate two 10GbE RJ-45 links and the out-of-band management port, and plan for any PCIe add-in cards the workloads may require.
