Compact 1U rackmount NAS for edge and branch offices

The Synology RS826RP+ is a 1U rackmount network-attached storage system built for edge deployments, branch offices and remote business workloads. It uses a quad-core, eight-thread AMD Ryzen V1500B processor at 2.2 GHz and comes with 16GB of DDR4 memory. The unit includes four hot-swappable bays populated with four 20TB Synology Plus drives for 80TB of raw capacity, plus two 1.6TB enterprise cache SSDs for 3.2TB of read/write acceleration.

Thermal range and power input for continuous

The chassis operates between 0 °C and 35 °C with humidity tolerance of 5 to 95 percent relative humidity. It draws power from a redundant 100 to 240 VAC supply at 50 or 60 Hz. Four integrated 1GbE RJ-45 ports support link aggregation, load balancing and automatic failover. Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and a PCIe Gen3 slot allow additional network adapters or an M.2 SSD adapter to be added without opening the case.

Sustained throughput and expansion headroom

Synology reports sequential read and write performance above 2,000 MB/s and 1,300 MB/s respectively under its tested configuration. The cache SSDs reduce latency and improve IOPS for HDD-based arrays during prolonged workloads. One Synology RX426 expansion unit can be attached to double the bay count to eight and raise raw capacity to 192TB using supported 24TB drives. The system is fully assembled and tested before shipment.
