Compact 1U rackmount NAS with 25GbE

The Synology RS826RP+ is a 1U rackmount network-attached storage appliance built around a quad-core AMD Ryzen V1500B processor running at 2.2 GHz. It ships fully assembled and tested with 32GB of DDR4 memory, four 16TB Synology Plus drives for 64TB of raw capacity, and a two-port 25GbE SFP28 adapter installed in the PCIe Gen3 slot. Four integrated 1GbE RJ-45 ports and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports provide additional connectivity for edge or branch-office deployments.

Verify rack space, drive compatibility

Confirm the 1U rack opening can accommodate the unit dimensions of 44 mm height, 480 mm width and 492.6 mm depth. The four hot-swappable bays accept 3.5-inch SATA hard drives and 2.5-inch SATA SSDs; the included 16TB drives are already installed. A Synology RX426 expansion unit can be added later for up to eight total bays. Ensure your switch or router has SFP28 ports and compatible cables or transceivers for the 25GbE links, and that 1GbE cabling is in place for the four RJ-45 ports.

Operating temperature range and redundant power

The system operates between 0°C and 35°C with 5% to 95% relative humidity, drawing power from a 100-240 VAC 50/60 Hz redundant supply. Sequential read and write performance exceeds 2000 MB/s and 1300 MB/s respectively under the tested configuration. Link aggregation across the four 1GbE ports and the dual 25GbE ports provides bandwidth scaling and automatic failover without requiring additional cooling infrastructure beyond standard rack airflow.
