The Synology RS826RP+ is a 1U rackmount network-attached storage system built for edge deployments, branch offices and remote business workloads. It ships fully assembled with 8GB of DDR4 memory and four 4TB Synology Plus drives installed. A quad-core AMD Ryzen V1500B processor running at 2.2 GHz powers the unit.

Four drive bays and one PCIe Gen3 expansion slot

The chassis provides four hot-swappable bays that accept 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs. A single PCIe Gen3 slot allows the addition of a 10GbE or 25GbE network adapter, an M.2 SSD adapter or a combined M.2 and 10GbE adapter. Four integrated 1GbE RJ-45 ports support Link Aggregation for bandwidth scaling and automatic failover.

16TB raw capacity expandable to 192TB

The included drives deliver 16TB of raw storage out of the box. Attaching one Synology RX426 expansion unit doubles the bay count to eight and raises the maximum raw capacity to 192TB using supported 24TB drives. SSD caching can be added to reduce latency and improve IOPS on HDD-based arrays.
