The Synology RS826RP+ is a 1U rackmount NAS built around a quad-core AMD Ryzen V1500B processor running at 2.2 GHz with 8GB of DDR4 memory. Four hot-swappable bays come populated with 24TB of Synology Plus drives in a 4 x 6TB configuration. The system includes a 2-port 25GbE SFP28 adapter alongside four 1GbE RJ-45 ports for flexible network connectivity.

Sustained throughput and expansion headroom

Synology rates sequential performance at over 2,000 MB/s read and 1,300 MB/s write under its tested configuration. Link aggregation across the four 1GbE ports provides bandwidth pooling and automatic failover during prolonged workloads. A single PCIe Gen3 slot accepts additional network adapters or an M.2 SSD adapter for caching, and one RX426 expansion unit can be attached to double the bay count to eight with up to 192TB raw capacity.

Verify rack space, power and drive compatibility

The unit measures 44 mm high, 480 mm wide and 492.6 mm deep with a weight of 8.0 kg, requiring a standard 1U rack opening. Dual redundant power supplies operate on 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz within an ambient range of 0°C to 35°C and 5-95% relative humidity. Drive bays accept 3.5-inch SATA hard drives and 2.5-inch SATA SSDs; compatible SSDs can be added for caching to improve IOPS on HDD arrays.
