The Synology RS826RP+ fits in a single rack unit and targets remote offices or edge deployments that need shared storage without a full-depth cabinet. A quad-core AMD Ryzen V1500B processor at 2.2 GHz drives the system, while 8 GB of DDR4 memory handles concurrent file services and virtualization tasks.

Sustained throughput with cache and expansion

Sequential read and write speeds exceed 2,000 MB/s and 1,300 MB/s respectively in the manufacturer's test configuration, and the 800 GB enterprise cache (2 × 400 GB) reduces latency for random I/O under continuous load. Four 1 GbE RJ-45 ports support link aggregation and automatic failover, and a PCIe Gen3 slot accepts 10 GbE, 25 GbE or M.2 adapters for future bandwidth growth. One RX426 expansion unit can be attached to double the bay count to eight and raise raw capacity to 192 TB with supported drives.

Redundant power and hot-swap bays simplify daily

Dual redundant power supplies keep the unit running if one module fails, and the four front-access drive bays accept 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs for tool-less replacement.
