Ultra-Slim External Blu-ray Drive
This Xglysmyc drive reads CD, DVD and Blu-ray discs and burns CDs and DVDs. It connects through USB 3.0 or Type-C without an external power adapter. The slot-in mechanism loads discs with a touch button. Windows XP through 10 and Mac OS 10 or below are supported for laptops, desktops and MacBooks.
USB 3.0 and Type-C Interface Limits
The drive uses USB 3.0 and Type-C for both data and power, so no separate supply is needed. Maximum throughput is constrained by the USB 3.0 link, not by the drive itself. Older USB 2.0 ports only deliver 480 Mbps, which will reduce read and write speeds. A host port must provide 5 V at sufficient current for reliable operation.
Write Capability Restricted to CD and DVD
This unit writes CD-R at 24x, CD-RW at 16x, DVD-R at 8x, DVD-R DL at 6x, DVD-RW at 6x, DVD+R at 8x, DVD+R DL at 6x, DVD+RW at 8x and DVD-RAM at 3x-5x PCAV for 4.7 GB media. It cannot write Blu-ray discs. Buyers who need BD-R or BD-RE recording must choose a different drive.
