The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rackmount server system built for midsize and large enterprise workloads. Two Intel Xeon E5-2680 v3 processors deliver 24 cores total at 2.5 GHz with 3.3 GHz turbo frequency. It targets virtualisation, databases, VDI and high-performance computing nodes.

768GB DDR4 and PERC H730 RAID

Twenty-four 32 GB DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC modules populate every memory slot for 768 GB capacity. The PERC H730 1 GB controller adds battery-backed RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. Dual 800 GB SATA SSDs and quad-port 1 GbE plus 10 GbE SFP+ networking are factory-installed.

24 DIMM slots cap at 1.5TB
