Dual Xeon 2U Rack Server

The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rackmount server system built for midsize and large enterprise workloads. Two Intel Xeon E5-2680 v3 processors deliver 24 cores total at 2.5 GHz with 3.3 GHz turbo frequency. It targets virtualisation, databases, VDI and high-performance computing nodes.

768GB DDR4 and PERC H730 RAID

Twenty-four 32 GB DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC modules populate every memory slot for 768 GB capacity. The PERC H730 1 GB controller adds battery-backed RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. Dual 800 GB SATA SSDs and quad-port 1 GbE plus 10 GbE SFP+ networking are factory-installed.

24 DIMM slots cap at 1.5TB

Maximum memory capacity is 1.5 TB across 24 DDR4 slots, so the installed 768 GB leaves room for growth. CPU sockets are maxed at two LGA 2011-3 processors. Buyers who need more than 1.5 TB RAM or more than two sockets must choose a different platform.
