The PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rackmount system built around two Intel Xeon E5-2699 v3 processors. Each CPU delivers 18 cores at 2.3 GHz with a 3.6 GHz turbo frequency. The platform targets midsize and large enterprises running virtual desktop infrastructure, data warehousing or high-performance computing workloads.

64 GB DDR4 ECC across 24 slots with 1.5 TB maximum

Installed memory consists of four 16 GB DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC modules occupying a fraction of the 24 available DIMM slots. The Intel C610 chipset supports expansion up to 1.5 TB total capacity. This headroom lets operators scale memory independently of compute as virtual machine density grows.

Dual 750 W platinum supplies

Two 750 watt platinum-efficiency power supplies provide full N+1 redundancy and can be replaced without downtime. The 2U chassis uses Dell's managed thermal design to cool dual 18-core processors and eight 2.5 inch SSDs under sustained load. iDRAC 8 Enterprise enables remote power and thermal monitoring from any location.
