The Dell PowerEdge R730 fits two sockets into a 2U chassis and ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2630v3 eight-core processor running at 2.4GHz. Forty-eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory occupy 24 DIMM slots, leaving headroom for a second CPU and additional modules. H730 controller with 1GB cache enables flexible RAID

A dedicated Perc H730 card provides 12Gbps SAS connectivity and 1GB of write-back cache. It supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across up to eight hot-plug 2.5-inch bays. Two 900GB 10K SAS drives are installed, and the controller can manage mixed SAS or SATA media without additional cabling.
