The HPE BL460c G10 fits a standard blade enclosure and delivers two Xeon Platinum 8256 processors running at 3.8 GHz with four cores each and 16.5 MB cache. It targets organisations that need high single-thread performance in a shared chassis for virtualisation, database or HPC workloads. Buyers who require more than two CPU sockets or GPU acceleration should look at rack-mount alternatives.

Half-height blade with dual 2.5-inch drive bays

The half-height form factor leaves room for a second blade in the same enclosure slot while the front-accessible bays hold the two installed 1.8 TB SAS hard drives. A Smart Array P204i-b SR Gen10 controller manages RAID 0 or 1 for those drives and the FlexFabric 20 GB 2-port 650FLB adapter provides high-speed fabric connectivity. Memory expands to 128 GB across the DDR4 slots.

iLO Advanced remote management included

Integrated Lights-Out Advanced gives full out-of-band control over power, console and firmware without an operating system. Every unit ships with BIOS and firmware updated to the latest stable release after a full diagnostic burn-in. A rail kit is available on request for rack installation. Systems needing pre-loaded hypervisors or additional storage controllers must be specified at order time.
