The HPE MSA 2060 ships as a 2U rack-mount system with twelve 2.4TB SAS hard drives factory-installed for 28.8TB raw capacity. Dual 16Gb Fibre Channel controllers and four SFP+ transceivers are included so the array can serve block storage immediately. It targets small or remote offices that want shared storage without a complex deployment.

Verify host and rack readiness

Confirm your servers have 16Gb Fibre Channel HBAs and matching cabling for the four controller ports. The enclosure occupies 2U of rack space and draws power from two redundant 580W supplies, so check available U-height and PDU capacity. Supported operating environments include Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, VMware vSphere 6.7, Red Hat Linux 8 and SUSE SLES 15.

Scale within the same chassis

Twelve front bays remain free for additional SAS SSDs or HDDs, and up to nine expansion enclosures can be attached to grow raw capacity toward the stated maximum. RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 are available on the controller to protect data as the pool expands. A Gigabit Ethernet management port provides out-of-band access for monitoring and firmware updates.
