ASUS NUC 14 Essential Core 3 N355

The ASUS NUC 14 Essential is a compact barebone mini PC built around the Intel Core 3 N355 processor with a 15W TDP. It ships with 16GB of DDR5 4800 memory and a 1TB M.2 2280 NVMe SSD pre-installed. Integrated Intel Graphics drives up to three displays via DisplayPort, HDMI and USB Type-C. The 5.31 x 4.53 x 1.42 inch chassis includes a VESA mount for behind-screen placement.

Memory and storage limits

The single 262-pin SO-DIMM slot supports a maximum of 16GB DDR5 4800 in single-channel mode, so capacity cannot be expanded beyond the factory configuration. The primary M.2 2280 slot accepts PCIe 3.0 x4 or SATA SSDs from 128GB to 2TB, while a second M.2 2242 slot takes SATA SSDs in the same capacity range. Wireless connectivity uses Wi-Fi 6E AX211 and Bluetooth 5.3, and wired networking is handled by a 2.5GbE Realtek controller.

Upgrading from older mini PCs

This unit replaces larger legacy desktops or first-generation NUCs that lack 2.5G LAN, Wi-Fi 6E and triple-display output from a 15W processor. The jump is worthwhile when you need modern wireless standards, faster wired throughput and three native video outputs in a VESA-mountable form factor. It is not suited for workloads requiring dual-channel memory bandwidth, discrete graphics performance or user-upgradeable RAM beyond 16GB.
