Form factor and motherboard support
This 1U rackmount chassis accepts motherboards from Mini-ITX up to E-ATX measuring 12 by 13 inches. It is built for operators who need dense storage in a single rack unit. It is not suited for builders requiring full-height expansion slots or liquid-cooling clearance beyond the 1.75-inch height.
12 Gb/s backplane and drive limits
A horizontal Mini-SAS HD SFF-8643 backplane provides four hot-swap bays for 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SAS and SATA drives running at 12 Gb/s. Two internal 2.5-inch bays and one external slim optical bay add secondary storage. The four-bay backplane caps maximum hot-swap capacity, so arrays needing more than four drives must look elsewhere.
Installation notes and common issues
Tool-less caddies with anti-vibration springs and a two-segment metal lock secure each drive. Six 40 mm central fans pull air across the horizontal backplane. Installers should verify that the chosen 1U redundant, 1U single or FlexATX power supply fits the depth and cable routing, as clearance is tight behind the drive cage.
