Dell 400-AMDV 960 GB SAS SSD
This new Dell solid state drive adds 960 GB of internal storage to compatible Dell systems. It uses a SAS 12Gb/s interface in a 2.5 inch form factor. The drive is hot-swappable and hot-pluggable for maintenance without downtime. It is designed for Dell PowerVault and PowerEdge platforms.
Suits Dell servers and storage arrays needing 12
It fits Dell PowerVault MD1200 and PowerEdge R320, R520, R720, R720xd, T320 and T420 systems that accept 2.5 inch SAS SSDs. It is not for systems that lack a SAS 12Gb/s backplane or controller. It is not for chassis that only support 3.5 inch drive bays.
SAS 12Gb/s interface
The single specification that decides fit is the SAS 12Gb/s interface. The host system must provide a 12 Gbps SAS connection and a 2.5 inch bay with hot-swap support. Without that interface the drive will not function.

この商品に関する質問
What part wears out first on a SAS SSD like the 400-AMDV after heavy write cycles?
The NAND flash cells inside the 960 GB drive degrade with each program-erase cycle, so the drive itself is the component that will eventually need replacement.
Which limit appears first when the 400-AMDV runs sustained writes in a PowerEdge R720?
The 12 Gb/s SAS interface caps the maximum throughput, so the bus ceiling is reached before the internal flash can saturate.
How much heat and power does the 2.5" 400-AMDV add when it runs all day in a PowerVault MD1200?
As a solid-state drive with no moving parts, it produces minimal heat and draws low power compared with mechanical drives, keeping enclosure temperatures stable.
