The Dell PowerEdge R630 is a 1U rack server built for dense compute workloads. It ships with dual Intel Xeon E5-2603 V3 six-core processors at 1.6 GHz and 32 GB of DDR4 memory across 24 DIMM slots. The H730 RAID controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.

The unit measures 26.8 inches deep by 17.44 inches wide and weighs 58 lbs. It provides ten 2.5-inch hot-plug SAS or SATA drive bays but no drives or trays are included. Two 750 W redundant power supplies are fitted. Verify your rack depth and acquire compatible trays for the drive count you need.

Redundant power and iDRAC8 simplify daily ops

Hot-swap power supplies and drive bays let you replace components without downtime. The integrated iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller gives remote console, virtual media and system health monitoring over the network. The server includes two E5-2603 V3 CPUs, 32 GB DDR4, an H730 RAID controller, two 750 W redundant power supplies, a power cable, iDRAC8 Express and a Matrox G200 GPU. You must purchase 2.5" SAS or SATA drives, drive trays, an operating system and any rail kit or bezel separately.

Should I choose the 10-bay 2.5" version or a different bay count?

This unit is the 10-bay 2.5" hot-plug configuration supporting SAS or SATA drives up to 14 TB each. If you need 3.5" drives or a different bay count, you would need a different chassis; the 10-bay model does not accept an optical drive.
