Two 300 GB 15 K SAS drives and a Perc H330 RAID controller provide fast local storage. Redundant 750 W power supplies and iDRAC8 remote management support continuous operation in rack environments.

Upgrade from older 2U or tower systems

Replacing a larger 2U server or a tower workstation with this 1U node reclaims rack space while adding DDR4 memory bandwidth and 12 Gbps SAS connectivity. The jump is worthwhile when workloads need more cores per rack unit or when hot-swap drive bays simplify maintenance. The platform supports a second processor and up to 1536 GB of total memory for future growth.

Limited to PCIe 3.0 and 1 GbE networking

The system provides up to three PCIe 3.0 slots plus a dedicated PERC slot, constraining add-in cards to that generation’s bandwidth. Default networking uses a daughter card with four 1 GbE ports; 10 GbE requires an optional NDC upgrade. Drive bays accept 2.5-inch SAS or SATA devices only, so 3.5-inch drives cannot be installed.
