Dual Xeon E5-2609 v3 six-core processors at 1.9 GHz and 32 GB of DDR4 deliver baseline compute for file serving, backup targets or software-defined storage nodes.

Upgrade from smaller arrays

The 24-bay layout replaces 12-bay or 8-bay systems when raw capacity or drive count must grow without consuming extra rack space. The jump is worth it when RAID 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60 across three 300 GB 15 K SAS drives on the H730 controller no longer satisfies performance or redundancy requirements.
