PCIe Gen4 lanes provide doubled bandwidth for the Broadcom 57412 dual 10 GbE SFP+ OCP 3.0 adapter and storage controllers during prolonged I/O streams. Only twelve 3.5 inch SAS or SATA drives fit in the front bays; 2.5 inch or NVMe devices require a different backplane not included here.
