The Dell EMC PowerEdge R740 fits two Intel Gold 6126 processors, each with twelve cores at 2.6 GHz, into a single rack unit. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4 memory across eight 16 GB modules running at 2666 MT/s. The configuration targets workloads that need high core counts and fast local storage in a compact footprint.

Storage and I/O ready for expansion

Eight 2.5-inch drive bays are fully populated with 1.92 TB SAS SSDs behind an H730P RAID controller. An Intel X550 network daughter card adds two 10 Gb RJ45 and two 1 Gb RJ45 ports. Up to eight PCIe Gen 3 slots remain available for additional accelerators, NICs or storage controllers. Dual 1100 W redundant power supplies and iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management complete the platform.
