The GL-MT3000 is a pocket-sized wireless router built around Wi-Fi 6 and a 2.5 Gbps WAN port. It targets travellers, remote workers and small households that need secure connectivity on the move. OpenWrt 21.02 ships pre-installed with OpenVPN and WireGuard clients ready for immediate use. A physical toggle switch lets you enable VPN or AdGuard Home without opening an app.

AX3000 dual-band throughput with 512 MB RAM

Combined wireless rates reach 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz, giving enough headroom for multiple 4K streams and video calls. The MT7981B 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and 512 MB DDR4 memory keep latency low under typical family loads. Heavy concurrent VPN traffic will saturate the WireGuard limit of 300 Mbps before the wireless link becomes the bottleneck. A single gigabit LAN port and USB 3.0 interface provide wired expansion for storage or tethering.

Fanless thermal design with 5 V USB-C power

The router runs passively within an operating range of 0 to 40 °C, drawing power from any 5 V 3 A USB-C source such as a power bank or laptop port. No moving parts means silent operation in hotel rooms, RVs or cruise cabins. The retractable external antennas fold flat for transport and extend for improved gain when stationary. Compact dimensions of 120 x 83 x 34 mm and a weight of 196 g make it easy to carry in a pocket or small bag.
