Redundant power and hot-swap cooling

Two 500 W hot-swap power supplies provide full redundancy without shutting down the system. Eight 2.5-inch SAS drive bays accept 15 K rpm drives that generate significant heat, so the chassis uses multiple high-speed fans that become audible under sustained load. Power draw scales with both CPU utilisation and the number of spinning drives installed.

H240ar controller enables hardware RAID

The Smart HBA H240ar adds 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA connectivity with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, offloading parity calculations from the CPUs. Two 600 GB 15 K SAS drives are included, offering fast sequential throughput for operating system or scratch volumes.
