The installed Smart Array P440 controller delivers 12 Gb/s SAS connectivity and 4 GB of flash-backed write cache, enabling RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the 24 drive bays. This controller choice determines the RAID levels available and the write-cache protection for the supplied 146 GB drives. If a workload requires a different RAID feature set or an HBA-only mode, the P440 would need to be replaced.
