Eight 146 GB 15 K SAS drives and the Smart HBA H240ar controller provide hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for mixed read-write workloads. The Matrox G200eH2 graphics chip handles console output only.

The H240ar controller initialises arrays during POST; a failed drive lights its bay amber and rebuilds automatically when a replacement is inserted.
