That controller delivers twelve-gigabit SAS and six-gigabit SATA connectivity with support for RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Two hot-swap 500 W power supplies operate in redundant mode, so a single supply failure does not interrupt service. An optional universal media bay or additional SFF cages can occupy the remaining bays for denser storage.

Efficient cooling in a 2U form factor

Redundant fans maintain airflow across the processor, memory and drive cage while the Matrox G200eH2 graphics chip with sixteen megabytes of video memory handles remote console output. The Intel C610 chipset manages I/O without adding significant heat, keeping power draw within the dual 500 W envelope during typical operation. Acoustic output remains appropriate for rack-row deployment where multiple units share the same aisle.
