The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 occupies 2U of rack space and ships with a single twelve-core Xeon E5-2670v3 at 2.3GHz. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 ECC memory are installed across the 24 available DIMM slots. Two 1TB 7.2K SAS drives connect through the Smart HBA H240ar controller. This configuration suits virtualisation hosts or database nodes that need room to grow.

Redundant Power And Thermal Headroom

Dual 500W hot-swap power supplies provide N+1 redundancy and share the load during normal operation. The 2U chassis directs front-to-rear airflow across the processor, memory and drive bays. Fan speeds scale with inlet temperature so acoustic output stays proportional to workload. No liquid cooling or external chillers are required for standard data-centre deployment.

Eight-Bay Chassis With Flexible Expansion

Eight 2.5-inch SFF bays are populated with the two SAS drives; six bays remain open for additional SAS or SATA devices. The H240ar supports RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 across all attached drives. Optional universal media bay, NVMe riser or second eight-bay cage can be added in the remaining internal slots. Matrox G200eH2 graphics supply basic console output without occupying a PCIe slot.
