The ICY DOCK MB411SPO-1B fits a single 2.5 inch SATA or SAS drive into a 12.7 mm optical bay. It accepts drives from 5 mm to 9.5 mm height and uses a Slimline SATA 7 pin host connection. The full metal body provides heat dissipation and the tray supports hot swap operation with a SATA 6 pin slim power connector.

Builders who have a 12.7 mm slim optical drive slot and want to add one 2.5 inch drive will find this tray fits exactly. It will not help installers who need to mount multiple drives, whose chassis only provides a standard 5.25 inch bay, or who require a drive interface other than SATA or SAS.

The tray only works when the host device has a 12.7 mm high slim ODD bay with a Slimline SATA data and power connection. A standard 5.25 inch bay is too large and a system without the correct Slimline connectors cannot use this rack.
