The Intel 660p Series 2TB M.2 2280 drive uses PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 and Intel QLC 3D NAND to deliver up to 1800 MBps sequential read and write. It is built for consumer notebooks, desktops and mobile devices that need high capacity in a thin 80mm form factor.
The NVMe 3.0 x4 interface removes the throughput ceiling of SATA while fitting the standard M.2 2280 slot. Sequential speeds reach 1800 MBps and random performance reaches 220000 IOPS, with active power draw of 100 mW and idle draw of 40 mW. Operating temperature spans 0°C to 70°C.
Replacing a SATA SSD with the 660p adds NVMe bandwidth and up to 2TB in the same footprint, backed by 400TB written endurance and 1600000 hours MTBF. The jump is worth it when everyday computing needs more capacity and faster transfers without changing the M.2 slot.
