The processor has a 270 W thermal design power. A server chassis with adequate airflow and a heatsink rated for at least 270 W is required. Thermal paste should be inspected and replaced during scheduled maintenance intervals.
The 270 W TDP is the primary sustained-power limit. When all 16 cores run at the 3.6 GHz base frequency the package power will approach this ceiling, and the processor will manage frequency to stay within the thermal envelope.
