Dual HR8825 HAT for Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano

This development board mounts on the standard 40-pin GPIO header and drives two stepper motors using onboard HR8825 controller ICs. It suits makers and engineers building CNC, robotics or automation projects that need precise motion control from a single-board computer.

Six microstepping modes via DIP switches

The DIP switches select full-step, half-step, quarter-step, eighth-step, sixteenth-step or thirty-second-step resolution without software changes. A potentiometer adjusts drive current up to 2.5 A per motor, while multiple connectors accept motors with different pinouts.

Check GPIO availability and motor current needs

Verify that your Raspberry Pi or Jetson Nano still has the full 40-pin header free and that each stepper motor does not exceed the 2.5 A per channel limit. Ensure your power supply can deliver sufficient current for both motors simultaneously.

この商品に関する質問

Will the HR8825 driver ICs or the potentiometers need periodic replacement after long use?

The dual HR8825 ICs include overcurrent protection and thermal shutdown, so the silicon itself does not wear out; the onboard potentiometers set motor current up to 2.5 A and are rated for the life of the board.

What limits continuous dual-motor operation on this HAT first — the 2.5 A per channel current ceiling or the thermal shutdown?

Each channel can deliver up to 2.5 A, but sustained loads at that level will trigger the built-in thermal shutdown before the current limit is reached.

How much heat and noise does the board produce when driving two steppers at 1/32-step all day?

The HR8825 ICs run silently with no fan; heat stays low at 1/32-step because current per phase is reduced, and thermal shutdown protects the chip if the enclosure traps warmth.
