The MSI Z170A GAMING M7 is an ATX motherboard built around the Intel Z170 chipset and an LGA 1151 socket. It accepts 6th generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors as well as Pentium and Celeron chips that share the same architecture.
Memory & Expansion Fit
Builders who want up to 64 GB of dual-channel DDR4 running at speeds from 2133 MHz to 3600 MHz (OC) will find the four slots adequate. The board provides three PCIe 3.0 x16 slots configurable as x16, x8/x8 or x8/x8/x4 plus four PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, so multi-GPU or add-in card plans fit without compromise.
Storage & I/O Core
Six SATA III ports, two SATA Express interfaces and two M.2 sockets give plenty of drive options while the single USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A and one Type-C port on the rear panel deliver 10 Gbps connectivity.
