16 GB DDR3 ECC Registered RDIMM

This 240-pin DDR3 module delivers 16 GB of ECC registered memory for workstations, servers and compatible NAS or router platforms. It operates at 1600 MHz with CL11 latency and 1.5 V. The registered design adds a buffer that stabilises the signal on heavily populated memory buses. It is not compatible with standard desktop computers or unbuffered memory configurations.

Capacity and headroom

A single 16 GB stick provides substantial capacity for virtualisation hosts, database servers or high-thread-count workloads that benefit from error correction. The 2Rx4 organisation supports dense population across multiple channels. Systems limited to DDR3 1600 speeds will not gain bandwidth beyond PC3-12800, and platforms requiring load-reduced or higher-voltage modules cannot use this part.

Registered ECC constraint

The registered ECC architecture is the decisive factor: only motherboards and chipsets that explicitly support registered DDR3 DIMMs will accept this module. Attempting to install it in a consumer desktop, laptop or any system requiring unbuffered memory will result in a non-booting configuration. Verify the platform documentation for registered DDR3 support before purchase.
