Server memory kit

This OWC kit supplies 256GB of DDR4 ECC registered RDIMM across eight 32GB modules. It is built for servers, workstations and NAS systems that require error-correcting, registered memory. Standard desktop boards cannot use these modules and they must not be mixed with unbuffered DIMMs.

Replaces slower DDR4

The kit runs at 2933MHz CL21 (PC4-23400) and is backward compatible with 2133MHz, 2400MHz and 2666MHz slots. The upgrade is worthwhile when your current memory operates at lower speeds or lacks ECC and your platform supports registered DIMMs. It will not work in systems that only accept unbuffered memory.

Capacity and headroom

Eight modules populate eight slots for a total of 256GB, giving ample headroom for virtualisation, large databases and heavy multitasking. The limit is reached when the platform's maximum memory per channel or total slot count is exhausted, or when an application demands more than 256GB.
