This 32 GB kit contains two 16 GB DDR4 2666 MHz ECC UDIMM modules built for the Synology RS2418+ and RS2418RP+ rack-mounted NAS units. The 288-pin unbuffered DIMMs run at 1.2 V with CL19 latency and 2Rx8 organisation. JEDEC-standard compliance ensures the upgrade does not void the system warranty.

Sustained-load behaviour with ECC protection

Error-correcting code detects and corrects single-bit errors during continuous file serving, backup and virtualization workloads. The modules are validated at 2666 MHz and will down-clock to 2400 MHz or 2133 MHz if the platform requires it. Unbuffered topology keeps latency low for the memory controller in these specific Synology models.

Tool-less DIMM installation in the chassis

The RS2418+ and RS2418RP+ expose memory slots after removing the top cover; no special tools are needed. Align the notch on each 288-pin module with the slot key and press until the retention clips click. The only common issue is inserting a module off-centre, which prevents the clips from engaging and leaves the system unbootable.
