This 1U rack server is built around dual Intel Xeon Silver 4110 processors running at 2.10 GHz with 8 cores each. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory and a MegaRAID 9361-8i controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Four 3.5-inch hot-plug bays accept SATA or SAS drives and four 10GBase-T ports via an Intel X540 adapter handle high-speed networking. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies provide redundancy.

Suits virtualisation hosts needing dense 10GbE

The four 10GBase-T ports and dual-socket compute fit virtualisation clusters, software-defined storage nodes and HPC front-ends that rely on copper 10 GbE. IPMI 2.0 with dedicated LAN gives lights-out management. Buyers who need more than four drive bays, GPU acceleration or fibre-channel connectivity should look elsewhere. The fixed 16 GB memory may limit consolidation ratios without additional DIMMs.

Deciding spec: four 3.5-inch hot-plug bays

Storage capacity and redundancy hinge on the four-bay limit and the 12 Gb/s SAS RAID controller with 1 GB cache and battery backup. If the application requires more spindles or a different drive form factor, this chassis cannot accommodate it. The 10GBase-T count and dual 750 W supplies are fixed by the 1U design.
