Compact 12-bay NAS for intensive workloads

The Synology DiskStation DS3622xs+ is a tower-form desktop NAS built around an Intel Xeon D-1531 six-core processor running at 2.2 GHz with a 2.7 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 48 GB of DDR4 ECC SODIMM memory and 24 TB of storage provided by twelve 2 TB SATA 2.5-inch SSDs. The platform targets small and medium businesses that need high-capacity, scalable storage for virtual machines, containers, surveillance recording or high-resolution video editing.

Dual 10GbE ports and expansion slots

Two RJ-45 1 GbE and two RJ-45 10 GbE LAN ports support link aggregation and failover for resilient, high-throughput networking. Two USB 3.2 ports and two dedicated expansion ports allow direct attachment of external storage or backup targets without occupying drive bays. The sealed chassis arrives with drives and memory upgrades packaged separately for on-site installation.

Single power supply with passive SSD cooling

A single internal power supply feeds the system while the solid-state drives generate minimal heat and operate silently compared to mechanical disks. The Xeon D-1531’s modest thermal design power keeps fan speeds low during typical file-serving, iSCSI and backup workloads. Btrfs and EXT4 file systems provide data-integrity features without adding computational overhead.
