Universal Hard Drive Adapter for Legacy Drives

The WRIARICH SA28 connects 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA and IDE hard drives, plus 5.25-inch optical drives, to a computer through USB 3.0. It suits technicians and home users who need to recover data, duplicate disks or back up archives from older storage devices without installing them internally.

USB 3.0 Interface Limits Transfer to 5 Gbps

The adapter reaches up to 5 Gbps over USB 3.0 and falls back to USB 2.0 or 1.1 on older ports. Drives larger than 6 TB are not supported. A 12 V DC power supply is included for 3.5-inch drives, and the unit can operate three drives simultaneously through its dual-head IDE connector and SATA III port.

6 TB Capacity Ceiling Decides Suitability

The 6 TB maximum drive capacity is the single specification that determines whether this adapter fits the task. Drives exceeding that limit will not be recognised, so users with higher-capacity SATA or IDE media must choose a different solution.

この商品に関する質問

Should I choose the 40-pin IDE, 44-pin IDE or SATA III connector for my drive?

Use the 40-pin IDE connector for 3.5-inch desktop drives, the 44-pin IDE connector for 2.5-inch laptop drives, and the SATA III connector for any 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA drive or optical unit.

What does the 5 Gbps USB 3.0 rating mean when I copy files?

The adapter caps at the USB 3.0 5 Gbps signalling rate; actual throughput depends on the attached drive, so a SATA III SSD will hit its own sequential limit while mechanical disks run slower.

Does the USB 3.0 interface limit the 6 TB drive capacity claim?

No — the 6 TB limit is a firmware addressing ceiling of the bridge chip; USB 3.0 only governs transfer speed, not volume size, so 6 TB drives are fully recognised on Windows and Mac.
