The APC Smart-UPS SRT 1000VA 120V is an on-line tower UPS that delivers pure sine wave power to protect servers, network gear and virtualised workloads. It provides 1000VA capacity with six NEMA 5-15R outlets and a NEMA 5-15P input for standard North American power. A SmartSlot accepts an optional Network Management Card for remote monitoring and graceful shutdown via PowerChute Network Shutdown software. Integration with EcoStruxure IT or third-party platforms centralises fleet management for IT teams.

Thermals noise and power draw

The unit operates as a double-conversion UPS, so the inverter runs continuously to supply clean power without transfer time. Fan activity increases with load and temperature, producing audible airflow in quiet rooms. The 59.0000 kg weight reflects the internal transformer and battery mass that stabilise output voltage. Heat rejection scales with connected equipment, so allow adequate ventilation around the tower chassis.

Upgrade from standby or line-interactive units

This model replaces offline or line-interactive UPS units when zero transfer time and pure sine wave output are required for sensitive power supplies. The jump is worth it for environments that cannot tolerate any interruption during generator start-up or utility fluctuations. It is not suited for deployments needing higher VA ratings, longer runtime without external battery packs, or rack-mount form factors without the separate SRTRK4 or SRTRK3 rail kits.
