Deep mini-ITX server board for EPYC 4004

The ASRock Rack AM5D4ID2 is a deep mini-ITX server motherboard built around the AM5 socket. It accepts a single AMD EPYC 4004 series, EPYC 4005 series or AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000, 9000 series processor with a thermal design power up to 170W. Four DDR5 288-pin slots support ECC and non-ECC UDIMMs up to 48GB total capacity at 5600 MT/s. The form factor measures 6.7" x 8.2" and includes an Aspeed AST2600 onboard video chipset for remote management.

Sustained load behaviour with PCIe 5.0 expansion

Under continuous load the board delivers one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and two M.2 M-key connectors wired for PCIe 5.0 x4, both fed directly from the CPU. Dual Intel i210 1GbE controllers provide steady network throughput without saturating the platform. The AMI UEFI BIOS resides in a 256Mb SPI flash ROM and supports ACPI 5.1 wake events. Power is supplied through a 4-pin ATX signal connector with a 24-pin adapter cable plus two 8-pin ATX 12V connectors that also accept 12V DC input.

Check cooler clearance and memory population

Before ordering, verify that your chassis can accommodate a cooler rated for up to 170W TDP within the 6.7" x 8.2" footprint. Confirm that your DDR5 UDIMMs are ECC or non-ECC as required and that the total installed capacity does not exceed 48GB across the four slots. Ensure the power supply provides the two 8-pin 12V connectors or compatible 12V DC input. The rear I/O offers one D-Sub, one HDMI, two RJ45 and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports.
