The ASUS PRIME B650-PLUS motherboard ships paired with a Ryzen 9 9900X processor that delivers 12 cores and 24 threads on the Zen 5 architecture. The board uses the AMD B650 chipset and an AM5 socket ready for Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series CPUs. Four DDR5 slots support up to 256 GB of memory with EXPO profiles and OptiMem II trace routing for stability at higher data rates.
VRM heatsink M.2 heatsink PCH heatsink Fan Xpert 2+
Comprehensive cooling covers the voltage regulators, the primary M.2 slot and the chipset with dedicated heatsinks. Hybrid fan headers connect to Fan Xpert 2+ software for automatic speed curves based on component temperatures. The 12-core CPU has a 5.6 GHz maximum boost frequency and an unlocked multiplier for manual overclocking within the board's power delivery limits.
PCIe 5.0 M.2 2.5Gb LAN USB4 support BIOS FlashBack
The top M.2 slot runs at PCIe 5.0 x4 for 2242 2260 2280 and 22110 drives while a second slot provides PCIe 4.0 x4. Rear I/O includes Realtek 2.5Gb Ethernet USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C HDMI DisplayPort and a USB BIOS FlashBack port that updates firmware without a CPU or memory installed. USB4 support and front-panel USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C complete the connectivity set.
