This 2.5in SAS hard drive delivers 600GB of storage at 10000RPM with a 6Gb/s interface and 64MB cache. It is built for Dell PowerEdge servers such as the R610, R710, R720, T610 and T710 where a hot-plug tray is required. The unit ships new and includes the server caddy for direct installation.

Tool-less tray insertion into 2.5in hot-plug bays

The supplied caddy aligns with the drive bay rails on compatible PowerEdge models, so the drive seats with a single push until the latch clicks. No cables or screws are needed inside the chassis. The only common issue is attempting to fit the tray into a 3.5in bay or a non-Dell chassis where the keying differs.

The 10000RPM spindle and 64MB buffer maintain steady read and write rates during extended database or virtualisation workloads. SAS dual-port architecture provides path redundancy without the latency spikes seen in single-port designs.
