Dual Xeon 1U rack server

The Dell PowerEdge R430 fits a single rack unit and runs two Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 processors, each with ten cores at 2.3 GHz. Hyper-threading provides 40 logical threads for virtualisation hosts, database nodes or multi-threaded application tiers. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 memory are installed across twelve DIMM slots, leaving room for expansion up to 384 GB. The chassis supports up to eight 2.5-inch hot-plug drive bays.

H330 RAID controller and three enterprise drives

A Dell PERC H330 12 Gbps controller manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 across the installed 1 TB 7.2K SATA drives. The hardware RAID offloads parity calculations from the CPUs and enables online capacity expansion or reconstruction without downtime. Hot-plug trays allow drive replacement while the server remains powered. The DVD-ROM provides legacy media access for installation media or firmware updates.

Slide-in rails and iDRAC8 remote management

The 1U form factor slides into standard racks using the included rail kit; the bezel snaps on the front for a clean appearance. A single 550 W redundant power supply delivers fail-over protection without occupying a second PSU bay. Four onboard 1 GbE ports handle management and workload traffic. iDRAC8 Express gives browser-based KVM, power control and hardware inventory; Enterprise licensing and vFlash media are optional upgrades. Two PCIe 3.0 slots accept additional NICs, HBAs or accelerators.
