The Dell PowerEdge R630 is a 1U rack server fitted with a single Intel Xeon E5-2609 v3 six-core processor running at 1.9GHz. It ships with 32GB of DDR4 memory installed across 24 DIMM slots. The platform supports up to two processors and a maximum memory capacity of 1536GB. It targets IT teams deploying virtualised workloads or dense compute clusters in standard racks.

Redundant power and 10-bay hot-plug storage

Dual 750W redundant hot-swap power supplies provide continuous operation during a unit failure. The chassis holds up to ten 2.5-inch hot-plug SAS or SATA drives connected to a PERC H730 2GB RAID controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. A four-port 1GbE daughter card handles network connectivity, while iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller enables remote management.

PCIe 3.0 expansion and DDR4 memory limits

Three PCIe 3.0 slots plus a dedicated PERC slot allow additional I/O cards, though the 1U height restricts card length and height. Memory runs at speeds up to 2400MT/s depending on the installed processor, and only DDR4 modules are compatible. The Matrox G200 graphics adapter provides basic video output for console access. No operating system or drive trays are included.
