Compact 1U rack server for dense enterprise

The Dell PowerEdge R650 packs two Intel Xeon Silver 4316 processors running at 2.3 GHz with a 3.4 GHz turbo frequency into a single rack unit. Each CPU provides 20 cores, giving 40 cores total for virtualisation, database management and private cloud deployments. The system ships with 1 TB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across 32 DIMM slots.

Sustained throughput from dual processors

Under continuous load the twin 20-core Xeons maintain performance through turbo operation while the PERC H755 RAID controller with 8 GB NV cache and battery backs write operations across RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Ten 1.8 TB 10K SAS drives deliver consistent 12 Gb/s bandwidth for mixed read and write streams without throttling.

Redundant power and remote management built in

Two hot-swap 1400 W platinum power supplies provide full redundancy in the 1U chassis. The Broadcom 57412 dual-port 10 GbE SFP+ OCP 3.0 card handles network traffic while iDRAC9 Enterprise gives complete out-of-band control. Ready Rails and a front bezel are included for immediate rack mounting.
