The Dell PowerEdge R650 is a 1U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon Silver 4316 processors running at 2.3 GHz with a 3.4 GHz turbo. Each CPU provides 20 cores, delivering 40 cores total for virtualization, database and dense cloud workloads. The system includes 512 GB of DDR4-2666 registered ECC memory across 16 DIMM slots, with capacity for up to 2 TB. It targets organisations that need high compute density in a single rack unit.

10-bay 2.5" storage with H755 RAID

Ten front-access 2.5-inch trays accept SAS and SATA drives, while the PERC H755 controller with 8 GB NV cache and battery backs RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. The controller provides hardware acceleration for mixed read-write workloads and protects in-flight data during power loss. Maximum raw capacity scales with the drives you choose; the 10-bay limit and single controller mean extremely large arrays or multi-controller setups are not supported.

Dual 1400 W platinum PSUs and iDRAC9

Two hot-swap 1400 watt platinum power supplies deliver N+1 redundancy for the fully populated chassis. The iDRAC9 Enterprise module enables remote power control, console redirection and firmware updates over a dedicated management port. A quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 adapter handles standard network traffic. Acoustic output and thermal margins are managed by the integrated fan wall, which ramps speed based on inlet temperature and component load.
