Built for dense virtualization and cloud workloads

The Dell PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rack server fitted with two Intel Xeon Silver 4310 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 12 cores. Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory are installed across four slots. Ten 960 GB SATA SSDs connect through a PERC H745 RAID controller with 4 GB NV cache. The platform targets virtualization, cloud infrastructure and dense data analytics in space-constrained data centres.

Dual 1400 W platinum power supplies

Two 1400 watt platinum-efficiency power supplies provide redundant hot-swap power for continuous operation. The 1U chassis uses Dell 15G thermal design to manage heat from dual processors, memory and ten drives. Integrated iDRAC 9 Enterprise enables remote monitoring of thermal sensors, fan speeds and power draw without requiring host OS access. Broadcom 57412 dual-port 10 GbE SFP+ OCP 3.0 networking is fitted as standard.

Ten 2.5-inch SATA bays define the storage ceiling

The server offers exactly ten 2.5-inch drive bays wired for SATA and SAS; NVMe support is not included in this configuration. The PERC H745 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across all installed SSDs. Maximum memory capacity reaches 1 TB across 16 DDR4 DIMM slots, but only 64 GB are populated today. Buyers needing more than ten drives or native NVMe U.2 connectivity must choose a different chassis.
