The Dell PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rack server built for dense compute environments. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 6338 processors, each offering 32 cores at a 2.0 GHz base frequency and 3.2 GHz turbo. The system includes 64 GB of DDR4 3200 MHz registered ECC memory across four modules. This configuration targets virtualization, cloud infrastructure and high-performance computing workloads.

Thermals power and noise

Redundant hot-swap 1400 W platinum-efficiency power supplies handle the dual-processor load while allowing maintenance without downtime. The 1U chassis uses forced-air cooling tuned for the installed Xeon Gold 6338 CPUs and DDR4 DIMMs. Fan speeds scale with inlet temperature and processor utilisation to balance airflow and acoustic output in typical rack rows. Power draw varies with workload intensity across the 32 total cores.

RAID controller networking management

The PERC H745 front RAID controller adds 4 GB of non-volatile cache with battery backup and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the eight 2.5-inch SAS/SATA trays. A Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 network card provides four RJ-45 links for management and data traffic. iDRAC9 Enterprise enables remote console, power control and firmware updates over a dedicated port. ReadyRails and a front bezel are included for immediate rack mounting.
