The PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack system built around two Intel Xeon E5-2640 v3 processors, each with eight cores running at 2.6 GHz and a 3.4 GHz turbo frequency. With 256 GB of registered ECC DDR4 installed across eight 32 GB modules, it targets midsize to large enterprises running databases, virtual desktop infrastructure or high-performance computing nodes. The Intel C610 chipset supports up to 1.5 TB of memory across 24 slots for future growth.

Hot-swap bays and redundant power for continuous

Eight 2.5-inch drive bays accept SAS or SATA drives through a Dell PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache and battery backup, supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. Two 750 W platinum-efficiency power supplies provide full redundancy with hot-swap replacement. A quad-port network daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ connections, while iDRAC8 Enterprise enables remote management. Rails and a front bezel are included for immediate rack mounting.
