The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon E5-2683 v3 processors, each running at 2.0 GHz with 14 cores. It ships with 768 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 24 slots, supporting up to 1.5 TB. This configuration targets midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, e-commerce platforms, VDI, databases or high-performance computing nodes.

Eight-Bay Chassis With Redundant Power

The 2U chassis holds eight 2.5-inch drive bays and includes two hot-swap 750 W platinum power supplies for redundancy. A PERC H730 1 GB controller manages SAS and SATA devices with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through. Networking is handled by an Intel X520/I350 daughter card providing two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports, while iDRAC8 Enterprise gives full remote management. Rails and a front bezel are included for immediate rack mounting.
